The end of Idaho and the start of Summer

Hey hey hey!  Welcome to our view of Lake Payette from the Shore Lodge in McCall. We were supposed to have randomly terrible weather over the weekend, but then the storm shifted directions and we wound up getting clear skies until the moment we packed up to head back home. Before I get to the time we spent at the resort in McCall, I have to mention Golden Fork hot springs in the town of Donnelly.  We stopped on the way and had a picnic lunch.  It was my first time in a natural hot… Read more >

Go Chica Go

We are in Chicago WITHOUT KIDS! We landed on Friday evening and despite it being JUNE (!) it was pretty chilly and foggy.  Bummer.  We went straight to our hotel and changed for our first dinner reservation at 9 pm at Gibson’s. We made it just in time to watch the Warriors win at the bar while waiting to be seated. Kyle got the crab bisque to start and I got the salad with balsamic vinaigrette.  He won that order for sure. For dinner he got the Chicago cut which was HUGE and meant to… Read more >

Poke in Davis

How good does this look!?!? I got take out for farmer’s market this week from Zumapoke here in Davis and it is officially our new go to spot. Can’t quit you kru

Is this not the most gorg sashimi presentation? Kyle and I went out for a date night (baby sitters are still received with mixed reviews by the kids).  I swear, every time you get through a tough phase with one kid, the next kid senses the peace and enters a new – dare I say MORE DIFFICULT phase.  Initially Valley was the limiting factor in getting baby sitters…then Mr. P went through an extremely tough phase that made us want to pull all our hair out…and now he’s back to his former self and she… Read more >

Brunch and shopping

Last week I barely held the family’s meals together without menu planning or a real shopping trip.  As a result, we went to all. the. stores. on Saturday.  And while it wasn’t pleasant, it was fine by me because the first part of the day was STELLAR.  The food part, that is. New things on the Pushkin’s Restaurant menu! Now that P is able to eat out, it’s fun to spend weekends with all of us together dining at restaurants.  Because we can!  I can’t wait to explore more of Sac.  That said, it’s really… Read more >
