Takeout FOOD

Well.  I never thought the day would come that I’d write the definition of FOOD on my blog. But there’s a first for everything.  a place of nourishment a neighborhood market for the new essentials an eclectic cafe serving seasonal, healthy and delicious food caterers from all your S-M-L-XL needs Kyle and I ended up here on our way back from a golf date at Rancho Park.  As far as golf courses go, this is one of the more ghetto places to play in LA.  And by ghetto, I mean not a country club. … Read more >

For Popeye

Somehow the topic of childhood cartoons came up the other day and I mentioned how much loved Popeye. It was one of my top three for sure.  Yogi Bear and Woody the Woodpecker were other favorites.  But the idea of Popeye chowing down on spinach and saving the world made me so happy as a wee one. Pizza. Stat.

Here’s what happened tonight. I wasn’t hungry.  Wasn’t hungry.  Wasn’t hungry. BAM!  I need pizza.  Now.  Like NOW. So… Read more >

Finding Falafel Republic

The worst thing about falling in love with a product is becoming obsessed with it and then having it get discontinued.  This is why I have a love/hate relationship with Trader Joe’s and Costco.  I LOVE when I discover awesome new CHEAP veggie products.  But I HATE when I return to the grocery store to replenish my stash and it’s nowhere to be found.  And it happens ALL the time! Case in point: peanut flour Over a year ago, I bought a big tub of Falafel Republic’s falafel balls.  They were outstanding – the perfect… Read more >
