A day in the life of Kyle

No worries.  I’m alive.  However, I have been super busy…I will fill you in on most of the deets later.  But, in the mean time, may I present to you a post written so long ago that I completely forgot about it…

Brekkie of champions.  Hash browns a la Kyle (chop, PAM, sizzle, salt, pepper, eat) with 2 eggs on the side.  Note the ketchup on the sidelines just waiting to be called in.

Dueling coffee (mine is the frothy white cup on the left, Kyle’s is the nearly black mug on the right).

For lunch we were out and about, so we hit up Whole foods.  Kyle chose 2 slices of pizza (eaten in an ever-so-dainty matter with a fork and knife)…trust me this is very necessary (he’s kinda a klutz).  So, if no reason other than to keep the laundry in check, I will remain a fan of the use of utensils – that is until he starts using them to cut up his snickers bars

I think the main difference between my eating pattern and Kyle’s is that he really doesn’t eat at all between meals.  Aside from the occasional Jamba Juice or Starbucks double shot, his snacking is minimal.

For dinner, he made a healthier take on a “pulled pork” sammich.  Rather than use the other white meat, he cooked up a chicken breast, then shredded it and added it to a pan with chopped onions, and a Mesquite seasoning mix.

I’m not gonna lie, it smelled good.  But, my avocado salad looked better 🙂

He served it up on toasted ww bread with a side of veggies, and polished it off like a champ.

Hoorah for Syrah!  We popped this bottle of Tobin James to enjoy a few glasses of vino with the meal.  And of course, no day would be complete for Kyle without some late night chocolate.  He craves it more than a PMSing teenager.

those are some pretty good looking meals kcobb. But I still don’t understand how people don’t snack…???

  2. Averie (LoveVeggiesAndYoga)

Welcome back Elise….I was wondering if you were ok? Glad to hear you seem “ok” just a bit cryptic in what’s really going on. Hope life if really ok and in the meantime syrah it up. 🙂

  3. The Foodie Diaries

I feel like boys don’t snack as much; I do not understand this approach to eating, but I believe it has something to do with our hormonal differences 😉

  4. Maggie

I love posts like these! So interesting what boys eat…

  5. brianna

He’s lucky he doesn’t snack! I’m jealous I snack waaay to much! Your absence is excused because I am glad your back =)

I think it’s interesting he, too, has “chocolate cravings”…. my husband always says that’s a girl thing. I do think that women in general have more issues with food…. for example I will often have dessert after dinner, even if I don’t want it (which is rare), because I feel like I NEED it and don’t want to deprive myself of it….. oh, the random crazy thoughts that go through my head 🙂

Glad to hear you are okay…I missed ya! Gotta get my HHH fix 🙂 I hope things calm down soon, and that the business isn’t actually a BAD thing…

I agree! It’s SO weird how guys don’t snack as much! My younger brother is huge like 6’6 240 and he NEVER snacks! It’s really weird. I think he’s a werewolf and I tell him all the time..

Kyle is for sure a killer kook

My dad is a meal-guy as well. There are VERY few days where he has a snack. Me? I become the biggest bitch in the world if I don’t have snacks – scary, scary sight!

    Hope you’re a-okay, lovey!!

  10. verbalriot

My brother and dad don’t snack at all (although they eat massive meals when they do eat).

That pulled pork looks awesome though!

  12. Diana (Soap & Chocolate)

Kyle and I have chocolate in common. Big time.

  13. Angharad (Eating for England)

“he craves it more than a PMSing teenager” – laughed out loud my friend! I am also a bit like a PMSing teenager with chocolate.
Love his pizza eaten daintily with a knife and fork. I often eat pizza like this too. But that’s probs more to do with the fact that we eat everything with a knife and fork in England.
My boy is also a “meal” person except for the fact that he eats more cheerios in between meals than anyone I’ve ever met. He doesn’t seem to understand why they don’t fill him up so he just munches his way through like five bowls in one sitting…everyday. Ha ha. Bless.

I love that Kyle gets 2 slices of pizza at Whole Foods! Nick does the same exact thing!! Well pizza..plus a salad. He can eat all day and never gain an ounce!

bahhh – tell Kyle he still looks like a manly man with his little utensils (and is that an Izze he’s drinking? homeboys got taste!)

  17. ellie

My brothers and dad don’t snack either…a guy thing? Neither do they really think about food other than a, “what’s going to taste good?” type way. Oh, to be a guy 😛 I approve of the ketchup + egg combo!

    See you tomorrow!
