Work, eat, sleep, work, eat, sleep

I had work the past two days, so this may get a bit repetitive…packed lunches as always.    Dried fruit, Larabar, Clif bar, dried fruit & nuts (?), hummus, raw salad, apple.  Read on for the deets. Lately I’ve been trying to branch out and dabble in the raw/food combining world, and I have to say, I’ve been pleasantly surprised with how positive the results have been.  Even though I have proclaimed myself anti-nuts in the past and vehemently refused to budge on the issue, for some reason I have been on a nut kick lately. … Read more >

New things

Even with a huge cup of frothy coffee, the morning still sucked.  After reading that Sarah decided it was time to bow out of the food blog world (darn creepers stalking her lovin family) I knew I needed something more substantial than my normal cup of joe!  So I dried my tears and busted out the blender. This Amazing Grass smoothie contained half a plain greek yogurt (Chobani of course), half a frozen banana, almond milk, and a chocolate-y packet of lawn shavings.   I stirred melon and dried cranberries into the rest of the… Read more >

My body is a waste-land

What a FUN weekend trip to the west coast.  And by fun, I mean booze-filled.  I was drunkface this weekend, and now I feel like I’ve been dragged home from CA.  I arrived on Friday afternoon, and before I knew it, Sunday morning came and I was heading back to NYC.  This is the view from the world’s smallest plane hang-glider I was forced to take to and from SFO.  All the Xanax in Britney’s purse couldn’t have calmed me enough for this. Propellers?  Uhhh…I prefer the JetBlue air buses, thank you very much.  Has… Read more >

oil…from the gland of an otter

Apparently I have to choose between saving for a wedding, and keeping up with the food blog fads.  So, in the interest of staying engaged, I’m unable to juice for breakfast.  No, not that kind of juice.  This kind. So I settled for the poor man’s version (aka a smoothie).  Into the blender went: 1/2 cup almond milk, 1/2 cup OJ, 3 oz POM, applesauce cup, frozen plain tofu cubes… and the juice of 1 orange (hand squeezed).  Nice before and after, no? The predominant color is the almond milk and plain tofu.  Good thing… Read more >

Working and grazing

(At the crack of AM) breakfast: Coffee.  Froth.  CranBran Vitatop.  Off to work. Snack:  Newman’s Own Organic Honey Wheat Pretzels I ate these all day long, and finished the whole bag myself.  Addicting, for sure.  I rarely buy pretz because of this very phenomenon.  I especially loved this honey wheat flavor, though, because it has the perfect combination of salty and sweet – way better than regular pretzels.  The huge salt crystals kinda ripped up the roof of my mouth though.  I think that’s my issue though, not Newman’s Own.  I swear I’ve gained 5… Read more >
