What I Ate…T/W

My Tuesday and Wednesday.  For your viewing pleasure. Breakfast.  Banana bread + fried egg.  Decaf, decaf, decaf. Lunch.  Celery, carrots, zucchini egg muffins with fresh grind peanut butter. After Kyle woke up I went for a short jog around the ‘hood and then we headed downtown for fro-yo. Snack.  Cultive mix of banana & white chocolate fro-yo topped with slivered almonds, shredded coconut, blueberries, and raspberries. Dinner.  Thai Peanut Zucchini Noodle Fry. Check out the squash from my coworkers’ garden!  I also scored some medjool dates and oranges from her.  The cherry tomatoes are from… Read more >

Checklist fun

Who doesn’t love a nice organized to-do list? This past week was a little different because Kyle was out of town a few nights working.  But he came home to sleep a little bit in between (night shifts).  And he wanted me to pack all his food so he wouldn’t eat crap on the road.  Hence the need for a very mapped out menu.  I can’t stay organized without it all written out nowadays.  My head is too full of other crap (like the tune to head shoulders knees and toes…make it go away!). Los Angeles Bucket List

Now that I’ve shared the big news, I can start talking about all the last minute things we’ve been up to as our LA residency comes to a close.   On our drive back down to So Cal, Kyle and I created an LA bucket list.  Unfortunately, we will not be able to hit up all the restaurants we wanted to.  There’s too much food in our fridge/freezer (slash we need to save $$$) to justify going out to eat the way that we both want to.  Which would have to be every night for… Read more >

Spring Cleaning

I’ve sat down to write this post a few different times now.  Each time I stop because I don’t know where to begin and how much to share.  Here’s as much as I can get out for now. I’ve been withholding news. It’s really really exciting news.  But it’s also bittersweet. Remember that trip up to Nor Cal?  Where we visited my family and Kyle’s business in Davis?  Yeah, we were actually doing some house hunting too.  And guess what!  We found a [perfect!!!!] place so easily, it’s like it was meant to be.  I’m… Read more >

First visit home

For the past 6 days Kyle and I have been in the East Bay.  It’s incredible having P in my hometown – and very cool/weird/surreal taking him to all the places I grew up around.  He’s also gotten to meet some of my bestest friends.    But I’ll back up to the trip to get here…because we were slightly apprehensive knowing we had a 6+ hour drive with a baby.  We’ve conquered hour long walks no problem.  Short outings are a breeze.  But the I-5 is a whole other ball game – there are 35… Read more >
