Ten Reviews [II]

I’ve got a pile-up of products to share.  As usual, some were good, some were okay, and some were losers. 1. Zing chocolate peanut butter bar Kyle stole this from me, but took a photo (which means he knew he was in the for-Elise-only bar stash).  In any event, here is his review: Zing bar was good.  Tastes like a tiger’s milk bar (for anyone that matters to) but better and not as chalky.  Fluffy enough to be chewy but hearty enough to be satiating. 2. Healthy Surprise delivery service   These services are popping… Read more >

Philly: White Dog Cafe

Last morning in Philly! Rather than trek into Center City again, we stayed in our ‘hood for breakfast. Even though they are right next to each other, I’m not very familiar with either Penn or Drexel’s campus. But I did pass through campus on my way to… Read more >

DC: sweetgreen

Another waffle start to the day.   Followed by another cab ride to the heart of DC.   We left Kyle’s grandma at the DAR library so she could do research.  I’ll spare you my sentiments on how much fun that sounds like to me.  The inside was actually really neat – it looked like a cross between an old train station and the White House.  They were filming celebrity jeopardy right next door (I tweeted about my Dr. Oz sighting), but we already had Smithsonian plans.  [above] From the American History Museum – war… Read more >

DC preview

Thursday through Monday I was in our nation’s capital.    Some of the highlights (full stories to come): 1. If anyone is traveling through LAX or DCA in the near future, you may see my photo posted on a wanted sign.  I broke bent the law and as much as I want to tell you all about it, I should probably speak to my lawyer before I post anything on the internet.  😉 Ok, I’m just kidding.  What happened was I forgot to bring my wallet with me – including my ID – and had… Read more >

Day 10: Day trip to town

Due to poor weather conditions, we didn’t have much desire to venture away from our hotel in Uruguay.  However, we did make it into town one day.   We walked there (tricked into thinking it was just a stroll down the beach) and it was drizzling nearly the entire time.  But at least we got to see Punta Del Este’s main attraction. Hand in the sand. Our lunch selection was based on two things: (1) did they have seating inside? and (2) did they have coffee? And so we found ourselves at Boca Chica Express…. Read more >
