I know everyone loves summer produce, so why bother write a love letter to strawberries? We all love berries and melon and corn right? Right. Another present from my neighbor. I’m going to make ginger lemonade with the juicer. My own garden is doing pretty well too! Left to right: lime tree, spinach, tomato, parsley & basil. And then there’s the other greens… Kale and chard (in mega need of thinning out). I had my first salad with them last week. This delightful lunch time salad had home-grown kale and chard topped… Read more >

Here are some products I’ve tried lately. Some were bad, some were okay, some were good, and some were awesome. So I figured I’d share. I have no affiliation with any of these companies. These are simply my honest opinions. 1. Boulder Canyon Natural Foods olive oil kettle cooked potato chips I’m not sure what makes these “kettle” exactly, but as far as ingredients go they are clean and pure. Vegan and gluten free. And FODMAPs friendly. Purely potatoes, olive oil and salt. I thought they were too greasy, but I’m not a potato chip… Read more >

Bon Appétit is probably my favorite magazine. I say that without a subscription though. I love their website. I steal my sister’s magazines. It counts. Clean Eating and Vegetarian Times could be in the running for the top spot too. I really just like reading about pretty food. The June copy of BA has SO many things I’ve bookmarked to make it’s ridiculous. Summer food is fun. Sometimes I wish I could split myself in half so I could have enough time to do both the career thing and the other stuff. Like making… Read more >

On the left is Amy’s dairy free cheeze pizza with a rice crust. On the right is Udi’s gluten free crust with tomato paste, arugula pesto, and Daiya mozzarella vegan cheese. I tried the Amy’s pizza a couple of weeks ago after an exhausting day. I was in a bad mood and didn’t want to put any effort into cooking. And I probably should have looked at the meal’s ingreds closer. Pros: It’s dairy free and gluten free. And takes no time to bake. I made it in the oven following the directions… Read more >
