Want a free jar of nutbutter?

The other night I was super lazy (what else is new), and decided that dinner was going to involve the expense of as little energy as possible. Enter Tropical Traditions coconut peanut butter. Anything you can think of gets elevated from good to great with just a little bit of this stuff. I heated some and drizzled it over roasted butternut squash and then had a bit more on a toasted Ezekiel english muffin.  Thus far, I’ve used coconut peanut butter in savory thai noodle dishes on pancakes and with nothing but a spoon …and… Read more >

Happy Friday and Happy April (fools)!  My parents are en route to So Cal at the moment, which thrills me to no end.  I’m so excited that the weather has finally decided to cooperate when my family is visiting.  Almost every other time the hippie clan visits, the rain clouds roll in.  No me gusta. On the contrary, me encanta MUCHO these babies.  If you’re not looking to brush up on your espanol, allow me to translate: these Mitica Spanish Cocktail nuts (from Whole Foods) are legit.   Too legit to quit, in fact.  Like… Read more >

I got a Brazilian Blowout today.  Thanks to Groupon, it was nearly half price (although once I added in the tip and shampoo/conditioner it was basically full price).  I’m happy to say, my ‘fro is now going to be well maintained with ZERO effort on my part…at least for the next 90 days… In the food realm, I had a really rough night.  Top Chef had me sweating for a full hour, but in the end my boy Blais came through.  Phew!  It was nail biting and my poor stomach was in knots the entire… Read more >

Tempeh time

Guess how I woke up this morning?  I fell out. of. bed. No joke, I woke up as I hit the floor.  Who am I?  A three year old?  Fortunately our comforter is really thick and I was so wrapped up in it, my body was cushioned enough.  No injuries to speak of, but not exactly the best way to start the day.  Oats, on the other hand, are a perfect way to start the day. Oats with chopped apples, cinnamon, and peanut butter…that’s the kind of breakfast that makes you forget about even the… Read more >
