Tis the season!

Ho ho ho! I love this time of year. ESPECIALLY with kids. It’s pure magic. I’m sure the novelty of cozy indoor activities will wear off long before February, but for now, I’m soaking up all the time we are doing holiday themed crafts, baking together, doing puzzles by the fire, and listening to the Frozen 2 soundtrack on repeat. Don’t worry, though. I still have plenty of things on my bucket list to tackle while the kids are on break from school… I’m thinking gingerbread, cinnamon rolls, peppermint bark…all the essentials for a holly… Read more >

Thanksgiving leftovers soup

I love this time of year but it’s definitely a little crazy! You PROBABLY have a bunch of thanksgiving leftovers that you want to eat in fancy sandwich form (bless the moist maker!) but in the off chance that you are sick of turkey sammies…here is a yummy way to transform your holiday fare into something new. Miso delicata salad

This kale salad with wild rice, roasted delicata squash, and roasted walnuts was super yummy so I thought I’d share. I finally found a second to blog! Let’s celebrate! Another feat worth rejoicing? I finally broiled walnuts without setting off the smoke detector! I feel like 99% of the time I am racing to the oven to rescue nuts on the verge of turning to ash, even though I always set the timer. Why am I continuously thinking I can multi-task with this?! The rest of the meal was pretty hands off. Delicata squash is… Read more >

Apple Hill cake

Is it even Fall in Nor Cal if you haven’t gone to Apple Hill??? Last week it was in the 90s, but this morning I went on a bike ride and it was in the 40s, so apparently the sun got the memo. For the record, I would totally be ok with something in between. Like a few weeks in the 70s would be GREAT. Just throwing it out there… This year we went to Denver’s Dans, which is an organic u-pick. It had SO MANY varieties to pick too! I am VERY tempted to… Read more >
