Day 5: they like fried food

Because I couldn’t get cinnamon rolls off my brain, it was back to the hotel’s buffet for breakfast! After eating at other places we came to realize the adult buffet prices are not unreasonable.  In fact, with the kids being free, it’s actually kinda a deal.   And the best part of all is that P can get a greek yogurt for dosing. The kids had their first tater tots.  P said they taste like french fries.  Suddenly he knows what fried foods are!  Eek! I went back for more of nearly everything, including MORE cinnamon… Read more >

Day 4: SD strides

Guess what I did! Stroller Strides in SD!  The idea occurred to me before we left so I emailed the Carlsbad fit4mom team and asked how it might work if I wanted to do some classes while on vacay.  They were SO awesome and emailed back saying I got two free classes at a visiting location and after that it would be $10 per class.  SWEET!  The first class offered was on the 26th and I was super excited. Even though it meant waiting forever to eat breakfast (I can’t eat before working out).  I… Read more >

Day 3: this Christmas

WEEEEE!!!!  I can say without a doubt, Christmas morning as a parent is better than Christmas morning as a kid.  I went to bed SO EXCITED for them to wake up and see the cookies all gone and open their stockings. P was nervous that Santa wouldn’t come if he was sleeping on the couch, so he crept into our bed at some point in the middle of the night.  Cutie pie.  Pretty sure Santa had already come at that point 😉 They were both up SOOO early, but we got them back to sleep… Read more >

Day 2: the eve

Twas the day before Christmas and we were happy as could be in our sunshine-y bubble of a vacation. I did a spin class at the hotel gym, which was as mediocre as could be.  I’m not a proficient spin person but even I could have taught a better class.  The energy was non existent, which is kinda an integral part.  Oh well.  I still pushed myself as best I could and got a good sweat. We ate breakfast at a place called Healthy Creations that was gluten free, with an emphasis on organic, vegan… Read more >

Day 1: slides

I may just eat everything in all of San Diego if we stay here too long… Before the sun was even up, Kyle and I took turns working out at the hotel gym, which is one of the nicest gym’s I’ve ever been to.  They have classes too, like TRX and spin and whatnot.  We didn’t anticipate it being as cold as it is in the mornings so my attire makes me want to go straight to the gym rather than run around the property freezing.  But I still did a little of both. For… Read more >
