States and Traits

“Traits don’t change, states of mind do” I read this in my book today and it really makes sense, especially when applied to health/fitness…naturally I felt like sharing this with all of you in the blogging world.  I’ve always been very passionate about health, which I would consider one of my personal traits, but my state of mind has definitely changed (and continues to change) over time.  Sometimes something as little as eating poorly for a few days or skipping the gym can mess with my head and my state of mind.  Even though I… Read more >

Good morning upper west siders

Yeah, too bad I don’t live on the East side…then I’d be a true gossip girl.  Riiiiight.   I was in a barista kind of mood this morning 😀 Froth machine + silk + truvia + cinn = the best coffee EVER! Even better?  I had the day off, AGAIN!  Plus I am going home on Thursday for a girlfriend’s bridal shower/bachelorette weekend, so I’m beyond excited.  California sunshine here I come… PB Puffins and an apple to get the day off right.  Somehow I wound up talking on the phone (mostly with my mom)… Read more >

Scheduling issues

I’ve kinda been freaking out regarding my half marathon training, especially since I’m gone for half of March for weddings (yes, plural) and bridal showers, bachelorette parties, and baby showers.  Seriously, how am I going to stay on track when I’m flying back and forth to California every other weekend!!  After seeing Caitlin’s calendar, I decided to make my own schedule to map out my mileage goals.  I still don’t have my work schedule for April, so I’ll have to make adjustments.  Also, Kyle’s birthday and friends visiting from out of town may through some… Read more >

March on…

I guess the cold weather is back?  At least the weekend was nice, but talk about short lived.  Good morning blog-loves!  I’m in an especially great mood this morning because I (again) was called late last night by my work to get the day off.  I still get paid, but because they were overstaffed, I don’t have to go in.  I don’t know if this is something to be worried about, though, since 2 other NY hospitals recently went under, and we really haven’t had too many cases lately.  And we all know our economy… Read more >

bye bye beijing

Hooray!  My boyfriend is back 🙂 We (sorta) slept in, but first thing upon waking, Kyle made us some nice frothy American coffee.  I think he missed the ‘bucks while in China.  Check out the MASSIVE mug he brought me home (I have an obsession with huge coffee mugs, especially Starbucks’ mugs from different cities). Brekkie: Soynut butter on whole wheat tortillas.  Look at all those delish grains and flax seeds!  I love this brand of tortillas! I also had a blueberry Chobz.  I am really loving these flavored ones.  I think blueberry is my… Read more >
