Ah Monday

Mondays are so hideous.  Unless you work the weekend shift.  Saturday and Sunday shifts tend to drag…the hospital’s inactivity is both a blessing and a curse.  I look forward to the start of the week the way most people long for the weekend.  My Saturday was studded with bouts of obnoxious psych patients (and inappropriately overbearing family members), which led me to dread coming to work on Sunday.  Fortunately we have charge nurses who look out for our sanity, so my assignment was switched up on Sunday. No nog

I can’t tell you how excited I was for this… And it left me in so much agony, I couldn’t even blog about it without residual GI pangs shooting back through my body.  Now, a week later, I’m here to say I am through with the seasonal soy bevvies.  Sad. Sometimes, it’s a bit much.  Case in point… Radiology: Is patient X able to come down for his PA/LAT now?  Does he need oxygen?  Any isolation? Patient room: Can I get pain meds? Lab: Critical value for patient Y, their PTT is 121 [yikes!] Pharmacy: The medication order for patient Z needs clarification,… Read more >
