Italian Amore

It’s been a while since I’ve made lasagna.  Kyle reminds me of this every month or so.  It’s one of his favorite dishes.  I went through the HHH archives and although I’ve showed the final products a few times, I’ve only posted a recipe once on the blog (a very long time ago). You’re due for an update. And since we are working on cleaning out our pantry and freezer, I figured it was high time I did the damn thang.  After all, we had two boxes of noodles, three jars of marinara, and two… Read more >

Vegetarian dining in Buenos Aires

I did quite a bit of research prior to heading to South America and since other readers are about to embark on a similar vacation, here are some of the veg friendly restaurant options I found.  The starred ones (*) are the places we ate. Puddles

It drizzled yesterday.  Not very much though.  No puddles to be seen.  Rain in LA makes me laugh now that I’ve lived in NYC.  Los Angeles shuts down at the mere mention of the dreadful “chance of showers” forecast.  People literally don’t do anything when it’s wet out.  I know because I used to be one of those people.  I made my roommates drive me (the 1/2 mile walk) to campus in college.  That is, if I decided to go to class.  For a discussion section I’d probably brave the elements.  But if I had… Read more >

What do you call cheese that’s not yours?

Nacho cheese!  <— cringe   Last week I decided it wasn’t worth it to make bagels from scratch.  Buying them is fine by me.  Tortilla chips, on the other hand, are now going in the “home-made” column.    Easy – yes.  Delicious – yes.  Cheap – yes.  I’m not joking, this was probably the most simple and tasty thing I’ve “made” in a while. Did I mention how cheap they were?   A bag of 100 corn tortillas from Costco set me back a whole $2.99.  They are made by Guerrero, and when I researched… Read more >

Moon Landing

I made his and hers cookies for dessert the other night.  It was 9 pm and we wanted dessert, but the only thing that we Kyle felt like was warm cookies.   It wasn’t in my vows, but cookie bitch is definitely one of my wifely duties.   You know that scene in Modern Family when Jay and Cam are in the men’s locker room together… That’s what I thought of once I pulled these cookies out of the oven.  Peanut butter moon landing! [the kissing cookies in the lower left corner]   Peanut Butter… Read more >
