Lovely Lacinato

Thank you to everyone who commented on yesterday’s post.  I feel much better having gotten that off my chest…you guys are so wonderful and supportive.  No more whining from now on (yeah right…). Lovely lovely lacinato.  The deep green color is somehow so intriguing.  I think it’s easier to eat raw than regular kale too.  Pre-dressing it before meal time means it’s texture and flavors are perfect when I dig in. 32 week check-in

So I last left off at week 26. Phew.  It feels like things have changed in a huge and significant way since then, which is odd since it hasn’t really been that long at all. Old to new

You all know I’m frugal.  And that I like re-working leftovers.  This is not news. So when Alene & Ethel sent me home with extras from the shower, I was really excited to transform them into new dishes not have to cook for a while. Orzo salad with sun dried tomatoes. Quinoa with edamame, kale, and tomatoes. Both of these dishes made their way into the weekly dinner plan immediately. Commentary

I really don’t like this new UC logo.  I’m saving the Daily Bruin crossword for Friday because our baby dresser/changing table is going to be delivered sometime between 12 and 4 pm.  That’s a lot of waiting around time that I need to fill.  But I am SO excited about this dresser (nursery photos to come).   Oh, and in case you couldn’t guess, that breakfast was GF toast with Earth Balance and two perfectly fried eggs.   There’s nothing (ok, very little) that makes me happier than a fully stocked fruit situation.  I’m on… Read more >
