I gotta stop pushing it these weekends

This weekend was full of relaxing at home.  Thank goodness! Last weekend I came down with mastitis and was way too ambitious for my own good.  We went to a football game with a couple and their 6 month old on Saturday.  And then traveled to the East Bay for a baby shower on Sunday. It was really fun, but I my suffer-in-silence-and-just-push-through-it approach completely backfired.  Come Monday I felt like crap and it was just me and pacman left to our own devices. Raise your hand if you’re surprised by my stubbornness…nobody?  Yeah that’s… Read more >

Lunches Lately

I stopped taking pics of my lunches a while back because they were soooo repetitive (avo and egg salad with some kind of carb). But then we ran out of eggs and I was forced to get a little more creative.   The stars of the show were these gifts from my neighbor.  She has a pomegranate tree and hooked me up with 4 red beauties.  There’s something therapeutic about de-seeding them.  Especially when your kiddo is napping in his crib for the first time in days.  [I love chest naps but they make it… Read more >

Trying different things

I ate something different for breakfast every day this week!  That’s so unlike me! Punkin’ for my punkin’

Soooo, we never got around to carving our pumpkin.   But it didn’t go to waste… Friday afternoon we were housebound while waiting for our wine delivery to come (I had to be home to sign for it since we’d missed the first two attempts). So what did we do?  Played with pumpkin guts. P watched on as I hacked our little sugar pumpkin from Impossible Acres open and scooped out the seeds.  I roasted them – making half savory (salt & pepper) and half sweet (cinnamon & stevia).  [BTW, I did not boil them… Read more >

This week past and future

Last I left off was my birthday dinner.  The next day we went to brunch at La Boulange.  Mine is the salad on the right.  Odd for a breakfast choice, but the taste buds wanted it. We hung around the house until my dad got home from work, then we walked to WF to grab sandos.   This is the crappy iPhone shot I got.  They were out of the Sonoma chik’n salad (which uses Beyond Meat), so I went with a basic vegetarian sando with the works.  Vegenaise and avo together are good stuff. … Read more >
