Home is where the health is

Whenever I go home to visit my parents I’m reminded about how lucky I am to have been raised with health in the forefront.  The importance of eating well and staying active was a given, so I have never seen wellness as a chore.  Eating balanced meals and participating in sports were, quite simply, just the norm.  I now know that I was very fortunate to have grown up this way.  Thank you mom and dad!  Prior to my arrival, my mom had been to TJs to restock the bar stash.    And hummus stash…. What I Ate Wednesday

I’ve never officially joined in on the WIAW festivities, but today’s is a special edition, so I knew I had to partake.  Unfortunately, I didn’t catch all my food on film (I forgot how hard it is to remember to take pics of every. single. thing!), but I did my best, despite being out and about for much of the day. The rest of the letters

M is for microwave, what is your favorite microwave meal/snack? Sweet potatoes are one thing that I’ve always preferred to microwave over cooking in the oven.  It’s faster and yields a very similar (if not better) steamed tater.  [The exception to this is if you are making fries out of them] There’s also the matter of oats.  Although I prefer the stove top version (and always make them on the stove when I’m home), I do microwave oats when I bring them for work. It’s so simple, it’s hard to knock it.  N is for… Read more >
