eye bee ess

Yes.  I have it.  And although flair ups have been minimal since I’ve been vegan, I DO still have days when I feel like caca (ironically, from the absence of it).  TMI?  Sorry. Usually these days are brought on by stress, and as much as I try to avoid it (with my nice planned out schedules), sometimes life throws a wrench in it.  Unavoidable.  Deal. This weekend, with my 3 shifts in a row schedule, I had to make like Tim Gunn and “make it work.” Comfort foods, aplenty. Review: not too shabby in a… Read more >

Lettuce cups

I feel like this post should come with a warning. If you’re the jealous type…then look away, because this post may just make you wish you were engaged to my fiancé 🙂 I’ll post more on the rest of my weekend meals later, but Sunday night deserves it’s own (detailed) explanation.  Kyle told me that he’d have a surprise waiting for me when I got home, and sure enough, I was totally blown away! He used the recipe for PF Chang’s lettuce wraps to replicate their famous dish – with a vegan (and HHH) twist. … Read more >

Avada Kedavra

My breakfast was a bit out of the ordinary. Coffee, normal.  Open faced grilled cheese, not normal?  On the side, I had two apples, which complimented the VeganRella mozz perrrrrfectly.  Crunch + melty = great (albeit bizarre) breakfast For lunch I made a tofu salad with a new twist on a fave recipe.  The last time I made this was a big success, so I recreated it, but with a few changes (less mayo, more tofu, brocc slaw instead of celery, shredded carrots instead of chopped). The result was just as successful.  I had it… Read more >

chickpea cookies

Are you scared of the title?  Haha…don’t worry, I haven’t gone quite that hummus crazy (yet!). But I did bake a batch of falafel today, which looked pretty damn similar to (how I would picture) chickpea pastries.  But before I went to town in the kitch, I got my breks-face on. Coffee.  Froth.  Bluebeezies.  Chobani. I heart my antioxidants and Chobz knows how to do it right.  The store has been running on empty in the greek yogurt department, so I finally was able to re-stock.  I actually went to the grocery store at 9… Read more >

3 shifts, 3 bars, 3 bottles

Wuddup sissy-poos?  What’s crack-a-lack-in in the blog ‘hood? If the title confuses you, here are the latest trilogy of events in my life: I worked 3 days in a row, tried 3 new bars, and downed 3 bottles of Kombucha. I’m pretty sure I left off with my pre-packed eats for Sunday’s workity-work, which almost satisfied me, but needed a little supplementation at lunch time. Enter Grape Kombucha!!  Caroline, you were right, this one is divine!  It totally reminded me of popsicles on a hot summer day.  Too bad I was on my lunch break… Read more >
