My seven

You know that little challenge going around the blog world…where you list posts following seven criteria.  Well, mine were hard to recall because I’ve been blogging for a really long time, but I did my best.  Here ya go!

*At the end I’m announcing the giveaway winner*

Most beautiful post – I know this is a food blog, but my wedding posts (part 1, part 2, & part 3) were definitely the most beautiful to me.  Every time I look at the pictures from August 28th, 2010 I’m reminded why it was the most wonderful day of my life.  It’s hard to put such emotions into words (but the photos do help).

Most popular post – My quinoa granola post is always getting attention.  It’s the most visited recipe.  Also my what’s the skinny on lady gaga? post is frequently in my blog’s search engine.

Most controversial – I was surprised by this, but my McDonald’s post had a rather divided comments section.  I also really enjoyed the Tal Ronnen discussion, which was controversial in that it had a lively comments section, but everyone was very respectful in how they shared their own views.

Most helpful – You, my dear readers, have actually requested for details on how I pack my work lunches so I’d like to think that my posts on how to prep for the work week, put it all together, & stock your work place (with healthy food) are my most helpful posts.

The post whose success surprised me – I was floored by the response to my depression in nyc post as well as the confession that lead to it.

The post I am most proud of – The posts intuition and it all evens out were definitely ones I was unsure about sharing with the entire internet reading world because they are on the more personal end of the spectrum.  It may be odd that I’m most proud of these posts because they were definitely low points for me in terms of having a healthy relationship with food, but it also let readers see me in a light that you may not often see me in.  Off the pedestal.  And relatable for those who also struggle with moderation.

The post I feel didn’t get the attention it deserved – This is a hard one since I’m still in awe that I have any readers at all…  but a few years ago I was answering FAQs from readers and I wrote a post on weight.  It’s now in my frequently asked questions page, but I still get questions from readers about weight all the time, so I am thinking that post needed to get more face time.  Now, that said, the post was written in 2009, so I reserve the right to have changed a bit since then…  😉

And now for the giveaway winner!  Congrats to Sam who wrote:

“July 31, 2011 at 8:45 am  Oops. Forgot to say that I sneak in greens with Green Monsters. Love them!”

I know you’ll be happy to add antioxidant greens into your daily eats, so hit me back with your address at ediedenATgmailDOTcom and I’ll get it out to you asap.

I came accross this blog recently, and you are amazing! I’ve been vegan for about 7 years and still hadn’t quite figured out how to pack lunches for myself. I’m so inspired by the way you eat and live.
I also moved to New York for a couple years after college. It’s a great city but I needed more trees and much less concrete!! I moved back to SoCal last year and loving the sunshine!
This is easily my favorite food blog! Looking forward to what’s in store! much love! 🙂

It’s been so nice reading this post and all the old ones I hadn’t read before. I love your blog!

  6. Alex @ The Plum Foodie

I’m somewhat of a new (but very frequent!!) reader of yours and so I enjoyed this list of 7 best posts. I feel like I’m kind of “caught up” with your blog now.

I thoroughly read through your “Intuition” and “It All Evens Out” posts and while I am not happy that you’ve struggled in the past, I certainly cannot deny that it’s “nice” to know there are other people who have struggled with the same things I am going through – and best of all – are coming out of it a better person. I have my days, but I’ve gotten a lot better about my body image over the last few months. I still worry when it comes to food and gaining weight, but it’s blogs like yours that keep me encouraged and motivate me to become the person I know I have the potential to be. Thank you!
