Monday’s sweet tooth

Thanks to my whole foods gift card, I was able to replenish my NuNaturals stevia… This frothy treat is coffee with coconut milk, cinnamon, and NuNaturals.  Luff. Brunch was a bit unconventional…I felt like grilled cheese, so I got crafty and mashed together extra firm Nasoya tofu and nutritional yeast. It looks kinda bizarre, but tasted yum-may. Currently there is a pretty bomb deal going on at Whole Foods with Steaz (when you buy a 4-pack you get another for free), so obviously I went for it.  My sweet tooth took over for the rest… Read more >

‘Fu master

This is how my food prepping has been going… TOFU you are my b!tch Clearly I have been a busy little bee on my days off.  Busy with LA SOYA that is!  To provide myself with several meal options, I mixed things up in the seasoning department.  From L to R: plain cubed, plain slabs, Whole Foods’ asian seasonings, and chili powder/paprika). After some bonding time in the oven, they came out looking like this: Shrinkage. Spice-ayyy. And here’s how I’ve been gittin’ my soy on. Meal numero uno: Big salad with mayj crunch, including… Read more >

Heavenly humm-becue

I woke up at 10 today.  Wow.  Haven’t done that in a while.  I wanted to sleep in so badly though, so I will consider it a success.  I passed the AM with a lot of drinks.  Mocha.  Tea.  Pee.  Pee.  Pee. “Empty yourself and let the universe fill you.”  Check 😉 For those who asked, here’s the recipe for the “cheeze” sauce I made yesterday: 12 oz. silken tofu (the entire box) 2 tbsp nutritional yeast unmeasured amounts of salt 1 tsp miso paste dash of paprika Try it!  So good.  Anyways, I had… Read more >

Faz

Not the Fonz…   Faz! While home, Kyle and I made more headway with the wedding planning, including research for our rehearsal dinner.  FAZ is a cute Mediterranean restaurant with amazing food, classy ambiance, open atmosphere, and YES, those are trees inside!  Anything green gets the thumbs up from this girl hippie. After we checked out the space, they treated us to dinner.  Fabulous! We started with brick oven flat bread and rosemary foccacia fresh from the oven.  It was warm, fluffy and heavenly.  Kyle dipped his in the seasoned oil & vinegar with parmesan… Read more >

Work and what-not

I made a Mexi-kale salad for lunch.  Sure, I just coined the term, but I think it fits.  On top of the kale was wakame seaweed, butternut squash, cherry tomatoes, black beans, and some salsa (added later so it wouldn’t sogg-ify).  Yes, I realize the involvement of seaweed in a south-of-the-border themed salad may be a bit of a stretch, but can’t I just claim poetic license on this one? To complete the (admittedly weak) Mexi theme, I also had a baggy of Brad’s Blues All Natural blue corn tortilla chips which added the perfect… Read more >
