Savory Hash

  Ready for an unconventional breakfast?   Tea in a coffee cup.  Why I felt like this as opposed to this is a mystery. Eating in & out

This past week has been work heavy, which is why I’ve been doing more recipe posts.  But my sister hates recipe posts prefers other material (and isn’t afraid to let me know it), so here’s a recap of my weekend. Adios Madrid

Our final day together in Spain was only partially spent in Madrid. To anyone considering a day trip to El Escorial – go!  It’s an easy excursion that’s interesting even if you’re not a history geek. We started at a non-Starbucks cafe (called Faborit) that actually had soy milk.  It was maybe 25 steps from the hotel lobby so we kinda felt like idiots for dismissing it the entire time.  Oops! Balzac

I forgot to mention how my bar stash came to the rescue during our two hour tour through the Reina Sofia. My dad’s blood sugar was bottoming out, so he asked if I had anything on hand.  I always have bars on hand, especially when traveling to less veg-friendly places, so that’s how my Corazonas chocolate chip oatmeal square met it’s final fate.  It didn’t hold him over long though, so it’s a good thing dinner was on the horizon. Fridge foraging

It’s getting to the point where making my meals are almost Top Chef challenges.  The fridge is nearly bare, save for some lingering leftovers and oddities that have been hiding in the back for quite some time.
