NY sizzle

Well, it’s safe to say my feelings about New York haven’t changed much.  Humidity is not my friend.  Aretha Franklin?  Nope, that fro is ALL mine.  God bless the inventor of the flat iron.  Our red-eye flight was as delightful as you’d expect any red-eye flight to be.  Luckily the only thing on the agenda for the day was a bridal shower for Jess.  In other words, I was in store for a day’s worth of boozing…which hardly helped the delirium that I was battling after 3 hours of interrupted shut eye. We couldn’t check… Read more >

Moving day

This post is super old but I didn’t have internet for the looooongest time…let’s back track a few days: Kyle and I were up at 6 am to do some last minute prep work before the movers arrived.  Naturally a run to the ‘bucks was in order. Once 9 am rolled around, the movers arrived and we sat back and watched the magic happen (wow!!).  Talk about perfecting their craft (I’m taking the liberty of describing moving as an art form – if you’ve ever done a big one, you will agree with me on… Read more >

Adios NYSC, Hola DVDs

Today was a good day for your truly.  And it will be for you too, since there’s a giveaway involved (read on).  I have nothing very interesting to report.  I started a new book, watched mindless t.v. shows, did Jillian’s shred (level 1), and then made it to the gym for my last workout at NYSC.  I also did some eating. The single serving Silk vanilla soymilk was a freebie from the 1/2 marathon.  Honestly, the goody-bags you get at races is such a fun perk. I also made pumpkin/carob chip toast (and only took… Read more >

Like a carry-out

*Post’s title courtesy of my lover, JT (and due to the fact that I ate several meals out this weekend). Apparently I just can’t get my blogging self together on the weekends (or when the weather is nice).  Sooo, Happy (belated) Easter!  And now for a quickie recap of the last couple of days… Saturday The AM can be summarized pretty briefly:  Starbucks, shopping, more shopping, and (finally) lunch at home. So far all the Gardein products I have tried have been fresh (not frozen) ones, so making the meat-free buffalo wings was my first… Read more >

Sunshine, don’t go away

As far as weekends go, this was pretty damn near perfect.  It started with a 10 am wake up call (sleep in much?), and then a bit of coffee loading.  Since it was a GORGEOUS 40+ degrees outside, Kyle and I wanted to get our faces in the sun asap.  So, after snacking on one (and a half) of my chia seed oat bars, we set out for a run in the park.  I can’t even tell you how long I have been waiting to feel the road beneath my feet.  The treadmill just hasn’t… Read more >
